Adapted from a 1950s San Francisco radio serial, the show will include two adventures of Candy Matson, a fearless P.I. who is never aloof when interacting with people, whether bantering with her friends, flirting with a detective, or badgering a witness for information. She never hesitates to go where is needed to solve the case, from the lowest dive to the classiest nightclub. Her friend and partner in detection is Roxanne Watson, a French debutante. All private detectives need a police detective foil and, in Candy‘s case, that is Lt. Ray Mallard; laconic, by the book, and easy on the eye. Candy is always a step ahead, clearing the case long before Mallard and the folks down at police headquarters!
The director Pamela Eagleson has developed a great fondness for radio serials, “they are a lot of fun, actors are reading from scripts but also acting out the parts, very entertaining for an audience”. There will be two episodes “The Cable Car Murder” and “The Black Cat”.
All shows will be performed at Club Berowra. There will be Saturday night shows, from 8pm, on the 26th of October, and 2nd of November and Sunday matinees, from 2pm, on the 27th of October and 3rd of November.
